Time For Another Studio? Wallet Beware...

Everyone saying that the new iPhone isn't much, but the fact that they added dedicated MatMul acceleration into the A19 is huge, because this means we'll probably see it in the M5. For folks like me- that's a dream come true.

I love my M2 and M3 ultra studios, but I'd trade them all in in a second for an M5 ultra the inference speed improvements that would come with that. I've considered a couple of times building out a multi-card NVidia rig for the homelab, but I'd either have to upgrade the house's electrical main or get a dedicated 20-30amp run to a room to not end up stringing extension cords all over the place. I've already turned the house into cord hell with all the machines I've already got set up, much less a power hungry beast like that.

Thanks to MOEs, the studios have become a LOT more workable for workflows, but I sure hope we see an M5 Ultra next year... I'm fairly certain we wont see an M4 Ultra, at least I hope not, so fingers crossed for a generation skip there.
